Staypineapple, Hotel Z, Gaslamp San Diego

The staff was very friendly and the hotel allowed us to check in early. There was a reasonable check-out time (12pm) and free bikes for borrowing as well, which was great. The room was clean and nicely set up, and the bed was super comfortable. As a bonus, the front desk offered coupons for a free drink each and checked with us shortly after arrival to make sure everything was good. We didn't bring a pet but nice to know that is available here as well.

The location was ideal for access to the San Diego Convention Centre and all the amenities and nightlife of the Gas Lamp District. The room was stylish, clean, and comfortable with a stocked coffee station. Upon arrival, I received an excellent greeting (even though it was 2:00 am), a complimentary refillable water bottle and beverage of my choice, and the coffee bar in my room was stocked with actual coffee cream, which was great. The pillows and duo duvets were like sleeping on and under a cloud and the towels were thick and soft. I really liked the convenience of the additional USB hub at the workstation and the comfy office chair. The water bar in the lobby and the selection of games available were nice. Oh! I almost forgot the umbrellas - life savers.

Great location, snack hour cookies and pineapple water were fun! Free coffee was a plus any time of day. Room was clean and linens were fresh, wifi and chromecast worked great. We borrowed the bikes - pro tip they are fixed gear and San Diego is hillier than it looks. The bikes are in good shape and a fun way to get around the flatter parts of town. We spilled a full cup of coffee in the room and housekeeping was quick to help replace the pillows and vacuum the floor. Secure entry - you need a room key to get into the lobby at night. Overall a pretty good value for a clean fresh room.

Perfect location, new and modern hotel. It reminded us of a European hotel with its standards. We have never seen a hotel like this in the USA. No bottled beauty products (refillable dispensers in the bathroom), no plastic bottle of water but a refillable bottle offered in the room that can be refilled with water at any time in the hall. Coffee offered in the morning. Drink offered on arrival with a wide choice of soda, wine, beer. Non-smoking hotel for the whole hotel which is very good. Dog-friendly. everything is really well thought out by putting priority on customers, animals and ecology. THANKS

Quirky but fun and unique hotel concept with the ability to stay with your pet, and even leave them in the room. Large rooms hide exceptionally comfortable beds, own personal duvets, with 2 per bed and even snuggle pillows in case you're on your own! That said, you're in for a treat: the shower cabins are large, with great water pressure, if a little fiddly to set the temperature, and their microfibre bath robes are so soft that you're going to want one. The bathroom had a premium feel, and the first night, and every night, I slept like a baby in that giant soft bed! On check-in you get coaster to exchange for a drink from their fridge in Reception and the pineapple theme extends to biscuits that go with the coffee that's in the lobby in the mornings as well the pineapple-infused water available there throughout the day. Oh and the coffee machine in the room is not half bad either. Finally, they're staff are just awesome! They may not be able to help you with quite everything, like the TV in the room would have you believe, but they sure do try and go above and beyond the call of duty.
